I never intended to be away this long. I really only wanted to extend my blog vacation through Jeremy's trip to Japan. I had a rush of energy (as I usually do when Jeremy's away) and wanted to get a lot done without the distraction of writing or reading blogs. But, as usual, life took over and here I am a week after his return, only now composing my first post. And it's only going to be a list.
It's been a busy several weeks. Here's what's been going on. Some of these will get their own posts (if I'm really good!) and some will just fade away with this list.
1. We finished the theater in our basement. Unlike many who have theaters, we are actually using our quite a bit. We have a 120 inch screen so we're watching all of our big screen worthy movies--Top Gun, Batman, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy--you get the idea.
2. Alex broke his arm. We're not sure how it happened--but this will get its own post.
3. Alex was diagnosed with Sensory Integration Disorder. This one will get its own post as well, maybe combined with the broken arm post, since I think the two are related.
4. We went to a family reunion in Idaho.
5. Jeremy spent a whopping two and a half days in Japan. Well it was probably more like three if you count the actual hours there. You would have thought he had a lot more time with all of the great stuff he brought back for me.
6. Kaitlin is officially a playaholic.
7. I began the great organization of 2008, which follows the great purge of 2007 which was never completed. Hopefully this time I can complete my home organization projects.
8. I can't spray paint to save my life.
9. I'm in love with
amigurumi once more. My friend Julie and I have spent several nights on Etsy looking for cute patterns for crochet animals. My yarn stash has also grown a lot over the last two weeks. (Shhh. . .don't tell Jeremy!) Luckily amigurumi only requires the cheap $2 yarn from WalMart.
10. Alex started throwing up today. Nice. Hopefully he just has a little bug, and not the Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease that's been making the rounds around the neighborhood.
11. Alex has finally "found" Toy Story, and so our Buzz Lightyear phase begins.
12. Tomorrow Jeremy leaves for Washington DC, and then on Thursday we're going to the Targhee Bluegrass Festival. Three days of hillbilly music. I'm actually really excited about it. I'm am, after all, a lover of music festivals. Who wouldn't be after going to Bonnaroo?
And so I'm current. Like I said, I will probably write some posts about these, but I have been in a rather non-picture taking mood lately, so they might be some of those long, wordy, pictureless posts, that everyone hates! No, I'll really try to not write too many of those. Here's my rule if I don't have any pictues, I won't write a post. That's what my personal journal is for, right?
welcome back to blogging. I'm one to talk right with 2 non descript posts in about a month. It was good to see you even if it was for only a few minutes.
Sorry about Alex.
I wondering when we're going to have a girl movie night in your new theater.

Hi Amy, thanks for dropping by my blog while you were on an official blog holiday! I wanted to tell you that I'm a pediatric speech-language therapist and I work in a clinic with an occupational and physical therapist. Most of the kids on my case load have sensory integration disorder. I hope you already have a fabulous team in place that can provide support not only for Alex but for you, but if I can answer any questions or suggest any reading material, please don't hesitate to email. 4kwise (at) bellsouth (dot) net.
